Abraham, Isaac and Jacob
"Then she led him outside and said: Look into the sky and count the stars if you can count them,
and added: "So shall your descendants.
he believed the Lord, who credited it to him as righteousness. "
(Jan 15, 5-6)
Stars have been the topic you have opened and closed retreat, held in Baida (PA), Saturday 22 and Sunday, January 23, 2011 where about 40 young people gathered to talk about this, "Abraham, Isaac and Jacob: In the Footsteps of the Righteous ".
In withdrawal we gathered to reflect on the journey of three biblical characters: Abraham, Isaac and Jacob , their history, the biblical story for accuracy, is equal to our history we are called to perform the same steps. First of all we are called to abandon the idols around us and bewilder us, like Abraham, we must break down these barriers and go to the desert where we find ourselves where we can ask ourselves and where we can hear God's voice calling us telling us which project chosen for us, the life plan that best fits us. Do not you just abandon the idols and go to the desert to hear the voice of God, we need to adhere to your project out of ourselves, we do not defeat our will but rather make our , that your, make a sacrifice, which, as Isaac teaches us, is an act that makes us grow and mature and then live in the real will of God
We must follow the example of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, because they have had the courage to go against the current, have had the courage to rely on God and do His will, the courage of Abraham as out from our land and go where he will show us the courage to offer Isaac as a be prepared to give us as a sacrifice of thanksgiving to God, as Jacob the courage to live is God's will face every day to day struggle that prevents our journey in the footsteps of Giusti. The same courage to go out, and live offer the service of God which had Mother Rosa accepting and living fully the will of his Beloved, the one who gave him life.
The withdrawal was a 'not only experience that has enriched us, made us excited, was also an experience where you can meet other young people like us, where it was possible to to compare different views, an 'experience where it was possible to clarify the ideas and understand what the first did not understand.
Among the moments of reflection, worship, and celebration of Mass led by Father Leandro FSA, there was also a moment where the fun and knowledge are fused with a dynamic developed by Josimar FSA include: the dynamics was very similar to snakes and ladders, after being divided into three teams, each team was asked to take turns rolling a die and depending on how they landed was asked to respond to a question about Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, once said if the answer was right you went forward or turn back, it was a nice way to have fun, but, in my opinion, also to understand when in reality ; know of our faith, we realized they did not know perfectly the lives of three historical figures, but we realized that if the brain is often put in motion the things that were said in the reflections back to afloat is what we thought of not knowing the end it turns out to know them.
We greeted with a beautiful story that tells that one day the stars of each type they decided to come down to earth, but after a few days decided to return again to the sky because the earth was covered of darkness and evil, but the Creator saw that a star, Green star, had not come back but decided to stay on earth. After a few days the Creator gave a look to the earth and saw that it was enveloped in a great light, into the heart of every man, woman and child was a little star Green which gave humanity the hope that one day peace would reign on earth.
