Often we are afraid of silence seems to indicate that loneliness and depression. The silence seems to us a deep void that we fill at any cost with any noise. So we use TV, radio, telephone, mobile, internet, popping up in your days of sounds, images, words often useless and trivial. Writes Bruno Ferrero, a novelist who recently passed away:

It 's true that there are silences that have their roots in evil: the silence of antipathy, bitterness, resentment, hatred, or silence of cowardice, of silence and complicity. Lent is a more opportune time to break down the walls of our silences selfish and to build instead that Silence of the heart that allows us to empty ourselves of useless words and fill in the Word, which allows us to get rid of crashing sounds to listen to the sweet breath of the Spirit.
